Technical Project Manager

Job Objective
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager with experience in managing software development projects from initiation to completion and a team of developers. He/She must ensure that all projects adhere to the required standards of budget, timeline and scope. Candidate should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills with at least three years of management experience in development work and customer interaction

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design large systems, covering for example: objectives, scope, constraints (such as performance, resources etc.), hardware, and software environments, main system functions and information flows, data load and implementation strategies, phasing of development
  • Ready to participate in development activities as and when required to help team members accelerate work deliverables
  • Take a leading technical role in systems development projects, both within systems design and in interfaces with other stages of development. Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options
  • Assess and recommend software packages on their ability to meet all or parts of specified requirements and advises colleagues and management on their technical suitability
  • Review systems designs produced by colleagues to ensure that the design meets business needs, uses the appropriate technology and resources and facilitates the integration of multiple systems and technology
  • Enhance the skills and capabilities of the development team by guiding and coaching them in development methodologies, selection of tools, framework, releases
  • Develop project plan and monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
