Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the successful delivery of high-quality projects on time.
  • Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables following a briefing from project director.
  • Carry out project management and engineering activities as per company procedures.
  • Engineering support on tenders and projects: validation of design calculations, material and equipment sizing, installation specifications, drawings control and approval, quality control and site inspections.
  • Carry out high quality discipline designs to the relevant standards and authority requirements, from concept of tender.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with external design team members and the clients.
  • Supervise, coordinate and support Engineers and CAD Technicians.
  • Understand project costs and the impact of designs on the overall budget.
  • Evaluate contractor submittals and write required reports.
  • Research and test new technologies, new engineering practices and new products to ensure that the company uses the latest prevailing standards.
  • Have an understanding of working with Dynamo and simulation software.
  • Carry out defects inspections and snagging.
  • Attend and contribute in team and project meetings.
  • Assist the General Manager in their daily duties as per their instructions.
  • Attend site when requested and prepare appropriate site reports.
  • Attend staff meetings and company communication meetings.
  • Establish, implement and promote team spirit.
  • Establish ways to promote a customer service culture.
  • Adhere to company regulations at all times.
  • Other cognate duties.


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Have a minimum 3 years proven engineering track record in one M& E field.
  • Working knowledge of Revit MEP and AUTOCAD.
  • Be able to establish and initiate effective communications.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
  • Be able to manage a team of people of diverse roles and responsibilities.
  • Be a motivator and use a proactive approach in all duties.
  • Know how to establish strategic plans and ways to implement them.
  • Have exceptional reporting skills.
  • Have analytical and evaluation skills.
  • Have effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Have time management skills.
  • Have stress management skills.
